How to Make Your Reception Personal

Make your day uniquely you!

Make your day uniquely you!

At Infinity Play Entertainment, one thing we always repeat to our brides and grooms is that this is YOUR day. We’re going to do everything in our power to make sure it turns out the way you envisioned it, and that means making your dreams come true. One part of making sure that it is your day and your vision is helping you personalize the music, tailoring it to your tastes, and playing all of your favorites. We have an extensive planning form to ensure that we hit every “do-play” and avoid every “do-not-play” song, and that we consider any special dances far in advance so that everyone is on the same page when the big day arrives.

That being said - there does tend to be parts of receptions that everyone seems to do. Cake cutting, first dance, father-daughter dance… so how do you make yours special and different, and YOURS?

First, consider a couple of things:

  • Your heritage or your soon-to-be heritage. Consider dances that are popular such as Dabke (Levantine folk dance) to incorporate.

  • Your religion or your soon-to-be-heritage. Are there special dances such as the hora dance (sometimes referred to as the chair dance) that your religion typically performs at weddings?

  • How you got engaged. Was it overlooking the lake at sunset? Perhaps include lake items in your reception décor. Perhaps it was at Disney World - maybe consider a medley of romantic Disney songs during cocktail hour.

  • Consider your hobbies, together and apart. Enjoy hiking, or camping? Maybe include a slideshow of your recent adventures together to be projected during the reception. Cosplay? Have your cake topper be your favorite characters.

  • Your home state. Partial to Michigan? Consider featuring popular state breweries for your alcohol, or popular pop brands such as Faygo or Vernors. Fun hors d'oeuvres such as Better Made potato chips and Sander’s chocolate are always good choices.

So, how does Infinity Play Entertainment make your reception unique?

  • As long as it’s okay with our brides and grooms, we have a unique song request system in place for your guests. We have two stands with instructions and a QR code for your guests to scan with their cell phones to send your song requests directly to our DJ. This minimalizes having to leave the dance floor to make the requests, and keeps your guests safety in mind during COVID-19.

  • We offer a custom monogram to be projected on our GOBO system to the floor, wall or ceiling during the reception to our brides and grooms. We supply the monogram digital file to you to be utilized however you please!

  • We like to have fun and we like to constantly add to our set-up. We are adding lights, new options and upgrading our systems to provide you with the best, most fun and most innovative set up we can. That being said - bright lights not your thing? Want all red, all blue, all white lighting only? We can make it happen!
